Isaac Price injury update as West Brom star misses out v Sunderland
Isaac Price has not been named in the West Brom squad for the clash with Sunderland on Saturday.
The Baggies head into the contest at The Hawthorns hoping to get back into the playoff places after Middlesbrough’s 2-0 win over Blackburn (4 April) knocked them out.
However, they will have to do so without the Northern Ireland international who misses out through injury.

West Brom confirm reason for Price absence v Sunderland
Price is a key man for Tony Mowbray’s side but stayed on the bench for the 1-0 loss to Norwich (29 March) due to a calf strain picked up on international duty.
The 21-year-old was rumoured to be fit again but that is not the case and he will miss out of a crucial tie in the race for the end-of-season showcase.
The Black Country club confirmed on X that he will miss the encounter with a minor knock in a major blow for the West Midlands outfit in what will already be a very tough match.

Price needs to be fit for the run-in
The decision not to risk Price is a smart one, at least in the long run, with the implications it has for Mowbray’s side in terms of their hopes of challenging for promotion.
If their star man is fit for the run-in, it will give Albion the best chance to secure a playoff berth and a potential return to the Premier League.

There is no point risking him and aggravating his current problem into a much worse one that would leave him out of the majority of the Baggies’ last seven matches and give them a much better chance to reach their ambitions
The Hathorwns outfit have tough clashes with the Black Cats and Bristol City in their next two and Coventry after they host Watford.
If they can come out of those matches still in the playoff positions, they should make it in and have a chance to return to the top-flight because their last three matches are against relegation-threatened teams and should be guaranteed wins if they are serious about reaching the playoffs.
