Bobby Wales bid submitted as West Brom hunt new striker signing

West Brom are looking to reinforce their attack in the summer transfer window.

Tony Mowbray‘s side are in danger of missing out on the playoffs after the 2-1 loss to Bristol City (8 April) left them in eighth place in the Championship.

Will Lankshear has not impressed on loan, Josh Maja may leave in the summer with significant interest from Spain and Daryl Dike has only just returned from injury, so the Baggies need better options regardless of what division they are in next season.

Karlan Grant and Adam Armstrong have also failed to deliver the goals that Albion need to take them into the playoffs recently.

Championship clubs submit offers for West Brom target

West Brom have reportedly identified Bobby Wales from Scottish Premiership outfit Kilmarnock as a potential target for the summer window.

However, they face competition from fellow Championship teams after Sky Sports revealed that two second-tier clubs have made offers for the 19-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Of course, one of those teams could be Albion, but the fact that there is at least one other club that wants the Scotland Under-21 international could be a problem for Mowbray’s side.

West Brom could do with Wales signing

The Scottish youth international has shown his abilities in the top-flight in his home country, notching five goals and three assists in all competitions this season after getting 12 goals in Scottish League One on loan with Alloa last season.

If the Baggies can secure his signature, it would be a huge benefit as they could use him as a squad option while he develops and then potentially sell him on for significant profit in the future.

There is every chance that Wales could get into the first-team fold given the fact that Albion could lose several of their current options for the new season and the struggles that they been going through in front of goal.

Ex-Albion captain Derek McInnes, who manages Wales at Kilmarnock, is a huge fan of the striker, as quoted by BBC Sport.

Planning for the next campaign is essential, although it may be complicated by the uncertainty surrounding the Black Country club’s league status, with Premier League promotion not completely ruled out right now.

If they can secure a top-flight berth, it may give them the edge when it comes to signing the Kilmarnock talent.
