Tony Brown calls West Brom star ‘tenacious little devil’ v Bristol City – ‘Brilliant’
West Brom conceded a late winner against Bristol City on Tuesday in another blow to their promotion hopes.
Tony Mowbray‘s side dropped out of the playoff places after a run of just one win out of their last six league matches beforehand but were hoping to get their season back on track.
Victory over the Robins would have taken the Baggies back into the top six and given them a big confidence boost heading into the final five matches of the campaign.
However, they were dealt a heartbreaking blow although it is not a terminal result as they are still only three points behind Middlesbrough in the race for sixth place.

Brown wowed by Callum Styles in West Brom draw
Styles was operating in the makeshift left-back position that he has made his own this season under both Carlos Corberan and Mowbray.
His display was impressive as he was defensively solid and constantly tried to drive Albion forward in search of a goal and that caught Baggies legend Tony Brown’s eye.
Speaking on BBC Radio WM (8 April, 21:15 pm), he said: “Brilliant tackle by Styles, tenacious little devil, isn’t he?”

Mowbray needs others to step up for West Brom
The 25-year-old stands up to be counted every week, even if his display is subpar, he gives his all when he steps on the pitch.
Mowbray could do with more players like that, that fight for the badge every chance that they get as Albion push for a playoff berth that is looking more unlikely by the week.
| Championship | Played | GD | Points |
| 6. Middlesbrough | 41 | +11 | 60 |
| 7. Coventry | 41 | +4 | 59 |
| 8. West Brom | 41 | +11 | 57 |
He needs the rest of his squad to step up in the final few weeks as a top-six finish is not out of the equation despite the disappointing result, with the Baggies facing a favourable run-in.
The Hawthorns outfit host Watford (12 April) before a trip to fellow playoff chasers Coventry (18 April) then have three matches that they should win.
Their last three games are against relegation strugglers with a trip to Cardiff (26 April) sandwiched between home matches with Derby (21 April) and Luton (3 May).
If they can stay in touch until then, they should have every chance to make it into the end-of-season showdown and potentially into the Premier League.
