West Brom final position predicted by supercomputer after Bristol City loss
West Brom’s promotion hopes were dashed again following their latest defeat on Tuesday night.
The Baggies travelled to Ashton Gate to face fellow promotion hopefuls Bristol City, where they were handed a 2-1 defeat as their poor run of form continues.
Nahki Wells had initially given Bristol City the lead in the 56th minute of the game, but Alex Mowatt levelled things up in the 62nd.
Tony Mowbray’s side were then well in the game as they looked to kick on and win it, but there were late twists that both went against the Baggies.
Jayson Molumby was sent off in the 89th minute, and Bristol City took full advantage of their numerical advantage as Haydon Roberts scored a last-minute winner in the 96th minute.
It was cruel heartbreak for West Brom, but it was especially frustrating for fans given that it was against another team pushing for the Championship playoffs.

West Brom must work hard to finish in Championship top six
The victory moved Bristol City into fifth place and provided them with a six-point gap over West Brom as the Baggies slumped down to eighth.
The result leaves Albion in a tough spot, and even though they are only three points away from a playoff position, they now have a long way to go in order to secure one.
According to the Opta supercomputer, that isn’t something that Mowbray’s men are going to achieve either.
Match Stats | Bristol City | West Brom |
Possession | 54% | 46% |
Total Shots | 12 | 13 |

West Brom have been predicted to finish in eighth place this season, with an expected tally of 65 points, which will not be enough for a playoff place if this table turns out to be correct.

Tony Mowbray now under pressure to turn things around
West Brom’s form in the business end of the season has been nothing short of diabolical, with the Baggies seemingly cracking under the pressure of it.
They are now without a single win in their past five matches, and have only managed one of them in their past six fixtures.
With five games to go, the pressure is now starting to mount on Mowbray to turn things around and get his team back firing on all cylinders if they’re to stand any hope of being in the playoff conversation come the end of the season.
