West Brom predicted XI v Watford: Isaac Price out amid Tony Mowbray gamble
Tony Mowbray could ring the changes to his West Brom starting line-up for their Championship clash with Watford.
Having lost three and drawn two of their last five Championship games, West Brom are running out of time to turn their form around and earn their way back into the playoff spots.
Albion must return to winning ways against Watford at The Hawthorns on Saturday (12 April) if they want to keep their hopes of earning promotion alive.
Things will certainly not be straightforward for Mowbray, with Jayson Molumby’s red card in the 2-1 loss against Bristol City on Tuesday (8 April) giving him yet another headache.

Isaac Price out in five changes at The Hawthorns
Mowbray notably made four changes to his team when West Brom visited Bristol on Tuesday.
This included Joe Wildsmith being replaced by Josh Griffiths and Isaac Price being handed a surprise start despite being ruled out for two weeks, in what was a huge gamble by the manager.
Mowbray does not seem to have found his favoured starting XI since taking the reins at The Hawthorns in January, and it has become almost impossible to predict his line-ups.
Team | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses | Points |
8. West Brom | 41 | 13 | 18 | 10 | 57 |
10. Watford | 41 | 16 | 8 | 17 | 56 |
It would not be a surprise if he made as many as five changes to his team when 10th-placed Watford travel to the West Midlands.
The defence will remain largely unchanged, although Torbjorn Heggem could be back in the fold after missing the clash with Bristol.
Meanwhile, Ousmane Diakite looks destined to start against the Hornets, with Molumby suspended.
Some of Alex Mowatt’s performances recently have left much to be desired, but he is likely to keep his place in the team due to a lack of options.

West Brom predicted XI v Watford
John Swift and Karlan Grant could be dropped to the bench following their underwhelming performances against Bristol, allowing Grady Diangana and Tom Fellows to come back in.
Mowbray may be left with no choice but to drop Price after risking him against Bristol and perhaps hand Daryl Dike his first start of the season.
The Albion boss has refused to switch to a setup with two strikers despite pressure from fans, meaning Adam Armstrong will likely occupy a withdrawn position in attack.
