West Brom can take solace from latest Tom Fellows snub

Tom Fellows wasn’t nominated for the Championship Young Player of the Season award despite his contributions for West Brom.

At this stage of the season, the only award that really matters is promotion back to the Premier League, which as it stands, West Brom still have a chance of achieving.

However, to do so, performances will have to improve massively ahead of the final four games, with the Baggies currently sitting outside of the top six positions.

Not only will performances have to be improved, but Fellows will need to be utilised when and wherever possible in order to give Albion the best chance of securing a playoff spot come the end of the season.

Fellows interest may die down ahead of the summer window

Throughout January and even in the months leading up to the summer, Fellows has constantly been linked with an exit from West Brom.

Everton have been the club linked the most with the Englishman, though West Brom will want to do everything in their power to retain the services of their key man, and the snub for the YPOTS award may help them in that pursuit.

Fellows has been crucial for West Brom.

West Brom fans were fuming to see him not even in the list of nominees, but there is a chance that his omission will focus the spotlight elsewhere in the championship, potentially alleviating some of the interest in him.

Regardless of which league Albion are in next season, he will be crucial to their chances of success, and every one of a Baggies persuasion will have their fingers crossed heading into the summer transfer window.

West Brom must not let promotion chance slip

Form has been hard to come by for West Brom as of late, though you could make the argument that it has been that way since the appointment of Tony Mowbray.

Fans have already called for him to be sacked at The Hawthorns, but with the playoffs still in sight, under a return to the Premier League still achievable, everyone must be on the same page ahead of the final run-in.
