West Brom valuation ‘much higher than £23m’ after new Shilen Patel offer – Exclusive
Shilen Patel is still pushing through the mess that was left for him after his takeover at West Brom.
Bilkul Football WBA, LLC completed its takeover of the Baggies back in February 2024, with debt and PSR worries to deal with at The Hawthorns.
In recent weeks, Patel has written to offer to buy shares at a set price, but for minority shareholders, there is also the option to retain or buy more.
The offer of £1210.58 to sell or purchase a share effectively valued West Brom at £23.3million.

West Brom valuation update after new twist
Dan Plumley has reacted to the valuation based on share prices, admitting that West Brom are worth much more than the £23.3m figure suggested.
The football finance expert insists that with the revenue line being higher than that, the valuation would go way beyond that, in what is a move to reduce the debt burden.
“It will be linked to the share price that they are offering, and the number of shares available,” he exclusively told West Brom News.
“That’s principally a move to reduce the debt burden linked back to the accounts, and what’s happening in that space as well.
“In terms of the valuation, it’s worth a lot more than £23m if you look at the whole club and everything around it. Everything that has been mentioned in the media and on social media it’s purely related to the share price of this particular offer, so I wouldn’t read too much into that number as a true valuation and reflection of the club as a whole, because it would be much higher.
“The revenue line is £28m, it’s above that anyway, so a full valuation would be much higher than £23m.”

Patel attempts to resolve West Brom issues
With losses in the latest accounts trebling at West Brom, along with the highest wages-to-turnover ratio in the entire Championship, things need to change.
Thankfully, though, things have started looking up on the pitch ahead of a huge end to the season.
Team | Position | Goal Difference | Points |
Bristol City | 5 | 9 | 64 |
Coventry City | 6 | 5 | 63 |
West Brom | 7 | 12 | 60 |
Middlesbrough | 8 | 10 | 60 |
Millwall | 9 | 0 | 60 |
The much-needed 2-1 win against Watford, coupled with Coventry drawing at Hull, sets up the trip to the Sky Blues perfectly on Good Friday.
Win and West Brom will be back in the playoffs, setting up a huge final three games of the season.
A ticket back to the Premier League would solve many of these issues off the pitch.
