Pat Frost shares ‘Scary’ West Brom realisation v Coventry after what he saw
West Brom lost 2-0 to Coventry City in the Championship on Friday, leaving Tony Mowbray with several questions to answer.
Frank Lampard’s team hosted the Albion on 18 April and damaged the visitors’ hopes of making it to the play-offs.
Mowbray is under pressure at The Hawthorns, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him in the coming months.
Jack Rudoni and Matt Grimes scored for the Sky Blues as they now sit six points ahead of the Baggies in the Championship, highlighting the work that needs to be done by Bilkul Football to take them back into the Premier League.

West Brom loss v Coventry worries as inadequacy seen
Coventry’s win showcases the lack of quality in the Albion’s squad, Pat Frost says.
The England senior kitman and Baggies fan is worried about the inadequacies at the West Midlands after five seasons of squad building.
Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses |
16 | 5 | 4 | 7 |
Frost was underwhelmed by Mowbray’s team’s defending, as they allowed Coventry to score some easy goals, and shared concern about the difference between the two sides.
He wrote on X (18 April): “Five seasons in the Championship and this is the kind of squad you end up with. If you defend like we did, you won’t win games in the conference, never mind this league. They were so much better than us, it was scary.”

Shilen Patel has decision to make on Mowbray future at The Hawthorns
Shilen Patel shares his excitement at The Hawthorns after the winter transfer window, but things seemingly haven’t gone to plan in recent months.
Bilkul Football now need to make a decision on Mowbray as the Albion are unlikely to make it to Wembley this season.
Carlos Corberan had left the Baggies in a relatively decent position before leaving for Valencia, but the former Birmingham City head coach has failed to build on it.
West Brom have seen their performances deteriorate under the English manager, but the owners may need to take some responsibility for that.
Mowbray has been without a reliable goalscorer at the Black Country club due to Josh Maja’s fitness issues, and Adam Armstrong hasn’t lived up to the expectations since signing on loan.
Alex Palmer was also sold in the winter transfer window, leaving the English manager with Joe Wildsmith and Josh Griffiths, who have struggled to make the number one spot their own.
With hopes of Championship promotion diminishing, Patel must start planning for next season, and whether there’ll be a managerial change at The Hawthorns remains to be seen.
