Patel urged to sack Mowbray tonight after West Brom shocker v Derby County
West Brom owner Shilen Patel could be out of patience with Tony Mowbray after the defeat against Derby County on Monday.
The Baggies welcomed John Eustace’s relegation-threatened side to The Hawthorns on 21 April and fell to a 3-1 defeat in B71.
A consolation goal from Adam Armstrong wasn’t enough to stop the rot in the Black Country as Albion suffered their fifth loss in six games.
This could see a drastic decision be made in the dugout as Patel has been urged to pull the sack trigger on Mowbray immediately.

West Brom fans want Mowbray out
There was a general happiness in the Midlands when the 61-year-old made his return to management with the Baggies, 16 years after his previous spell.
The former Celtic boss had plenty to live up to after the success of Carlos Corberan before his ultimate departure for Valencia earlier in the campaign.
It is fair to say that the Englishman has failed to live up to the hype with a hugely damaging run since his introduction.
This has seen the Baggies fall out of the playoff places, now sitting 10th, six points behind Coventry City, who occupy the final spot in the top six.
Position | Team | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
6. | Coventry City | 44 | +5 | 66 |
7. | Middlesbrough | 44 | +10 | 63 |
8. | Millwall | 44 | -1 | 63 |
9. | Blackburn Rovers | 44 | +4 | 62 |
10. | West Brom | 44 | +8 | 60 |
This hasn’t been helped by the loss against Derby County, which has sparked one fan to demand Mowbray’s sacking from Patel.
They said: “Unacceptable. Patel at ground, Mowbray has to be sacked tonight.”
This was echoed by many supporters, with Tom Garratt asking for a new manager as the summer window looms at The Hawthorns.
He said: “New manager, please. I love the bloke, but Mowbray clearly isn’t the answer, is he?”
Mowbray up against it at West Brom after Derby defeat
It looks as if the Englishman’s second spell in the Black Country is set to end in disappointing fashion if things carry on this way.
Mowbray hasn’t managed to get the best out of his side despite signing the likes of Armstrong and Will Lankshear in the summer.
Besides the rise of Isaac Price after signing from Standard Liege, there is very little positivity in the Midlands right now, and that has to change.
This could see an alteration be utilised with the new season in mind, as Patel is being called into action by the Baggies faithful who want to see something new.
