West Brom want Mason as new manager from Tottenham

Mason, who’s a coach at Tottenham, is at the top of the wishlist to become the next manager at The Hawthorns, according to Alan Nixon.

The journalist revealed on his Patreon (22 April) that the former midfielder, who’s been caretaker manager at the North London outfit on a few occasions, now has a chance to become the new head coach at the Baggies.

It’s been claimed that an immediate move for the 33-year-old may be out of the question, as he’s heavily involved in Spurs’ Europa League campaign.

The West Midlands outfit are willing to wait for Mason, though, as they look to start anew after Mowbray’s departure.

Mowbray sack inevitable at The Hawthorns

Mowbray’s sacking at The Hawthorns was inevitable as fans had begun to turn on him after some poor performances in recent weeks.

While supporters were hoping for a play-offs berth in the Championship this season, the English manager would’ve likely failed to achieve that goal.

Carlos Corberan had left the Baggies within touching distance of going to Wembley, but the former Birmingham boss was unable to make progress on it.

Mowbray lost five of his last six games at West Brom, and his sacking was inevitable, considering the poor run of results.

While the Englishman’s departure should’ve been expected, the timing of it came as a shock to some fans.

Bilkul Football have shown initiative at The Hawthorns and have proved that they aren’t afraid of making the tough calls.

While Patel has largely been a popular figure among supporters, things can change quickly in football, as it’s a results-driven business.

The American owners now have a crucial decision to make on who the next manager will be, and the experiment with Mason could be hit or miss.

There’s still time until the end of the season to evaluate options, and the saga at the Baggies is one to keep an eye on.
