Shilen Patel to be patient at West Brom as ‘Stunning’ Daniel Farke news emerges

West Brom are back on the hunt for a new manager after the sacking of Tony Mowbray.

West Brom’s hopes of a top-six finish have been all but curtailed following their defeat to Derby County on Easter Monday, though that wasn’t the only thing that ended.

After a dismal three-month spell in charge, Mowbray was sacked at The Hawthorns, leaving the Baggies on the hunt for their third manager this season.

Several candidates have already emerged as potential successors to Mowbray, though the best option may become available sooner rather than later.

Daniel Farke could become the next West Brom manager

Ultimately, there is a lot of work to be done at West Brom this summer, though a managerial appointment will certainly be the number one priority.

Almost everyone questioned the appointment of Mowbray at the time, and with hindsight, those doubts were proven to be accurate, but no one would have any doubts over the appointment of Daniel Farke.

Having just secured promotion with Leeds, many would expect him to remain with the Whites, but a report from Daily Mail states that they are “considering making a stunning managerial change” and sacking the German.

Farke has a remarkable record in the Championship.

His record in the Premier League is woeful, but his track record of getting promoted from the Championship is special, and that is exactly what Albion need to progress next season.

Shilen Patel will need to be patient if this one is of interest, and if they have ambitions of being a Premier League club, it should be.

West Brom cannot afford to repeat Mowbray error

Even before his sacking, everyone knew that Mowbray wasn’t the man who was capable of taking over from Carlos Corberan.

As loved as he is at The Hawthorns, the task at hand was beyond his job remit, and West Brom need a manager capable of taking them to the next level.

Whether that proves to be Farke or not, the next appointment will be a crucial one.
