Tom Fellows set to quit West Brom in ‘cut-price deal’ as Albion exit announced

Tom Fellows continues to be linked with a transfer away from West Brom as the summer window looms.

The 21-year-old has had a superb campaign in the Championship and has caught the attention of plenty of sides in the Premier League.

This comes off the back of a superb creativity haul in the second tier, which has seen the England under-21 international clock up 13 league assists.

With the season set to come to an end in the coming weeks at The Hawthorns, the summer could prove to be the end of the road for the winger in B71.

Everton could push through Fellows transfer

It has been a difficult few weeks for the Baggies, which has culminated in a difficult decision for Shilen Patel to make.

The defeat against Derby County on Monday (21 April) was far from good enough and continued a run of five defeats in six Championship outings.

As a result, it was little surprise to see Tony Mowbray depart with the Albion hierarchy calling time on his second spell in B71 over two years early.

This could result in issues for the Baggies in the summer window as the lack of Premier League football and managerial uncertainty could see Fellows depart.

Former Everton scout Bryan King has suggested to Goodison News on 22 April that this could prompt a cut price move to Goodison in the upcoming window.

He said: “A transfer looks more likely now. I would imagine that the price will be reduced as well. West Brom can’t guarantee the player that he is going to play in the Premier League next season. Therefore, a move to Everton would be quite easy.

“It was a bad Easter weekend for West Brom. They lost both matches, and Mowbray left the club. Therefore, I’d imagine Fellows to Everton is a move which could be agreed quite easily.”

West Brom likely to lose Fellows to Everton

With Albion now very likely to miss out on a playoff spot, it feels that mass changes are going to be in the offing at The Hawthorns.

With that being said, keeping hold of key players has to be seen as a priority, although Fellows may be too tough to tie down in the Black Country.

The Englishman has been superb since breaking through under Carlos Corberan and could flourish in the Premier League if given the chance.

This doesn’t look likely to happen in B71 any time soon and as a result, a move away may prove to be beneficial for all parties.

This would force the likes of Mikey Johnston and Karlan Grant to step up to the plate and shine in the second tier.
