West Brom star likes post saying Mowbray has been sacked in shock twist
West Brom’s fall from the play-offs saw Tony Mowbray lose his job at The Hawthorns.
Mowbray seemingly struggled to find his feet in the Black Country and a 3-1 defeat against relegation-threatened Derby County on Monday (21 April) proved to be the final nail in the coffin.
With six points separating the Baggies from sixth-placed in the Championship table, West Brom are set for another season of second-tier football.

West Brom wave off Mowbray
Replacing Carlos Corberan halfway through the campaign was never going to be an easy task, but Shilen Patel took his time on a replacement, which made it seem like a well-measured appointment.
Mowbray took a bit of time to get going, although when it seemed as though he had maybe found his feet, inconsistency of form took over.
Since then, the boss struggled to settle on his best starting line-up and results struggled as Albion dropped down the table.

In a massive game against Coventry City on Good Friday, Mowbray’s men fell to a 2-0 loss with 10 men on the pitch after Callum Styles received a red card.
Another defeat followed, against Derby, and with just one win in their last five games, Patel could no longer stand by his previous appointment.
Although the West Brom squad have mostly been coy about their feelings on the decision, one man has shown that he may have been supportive of the call.
Styles was seen liking the Instagram post by West Brom, which announced the sacking of Mowbray.
The Hungarian international has seemingly removed his like from the post now, although supporters were quick to catch the evidence first.
Patel has to get West Brom appointment right
You can understand some of the thinking behind the appointment of Mowbray at West Brom, but ultimately, it proved to be the wrong step for the owner to take.
With two games to go until the end of the campaign, the chief does have time to take over the call, rather than rushing into a new appointment.
However, with a number of other Championship sides looking for new managers, Albion could benefit from getting into the market early and snapping up the man they want.
The likes of Gary O’Neil, Liam Rosenior and Steve Cooper have been linked with moves to The Hawthorns, suggesting there is a decision to be made about a style of football and type of manager.
If the ownership can make a call ahead of the summer transfer window getting started, it will give the new boss maximum opportunity to get the recruitment right.
Making the right call now will be crucial in West Brom’s campaign next term, putting all the pressure on Patel for the right call.
