West Brom close in on Marti Cifuentes appointment as odds slashed
West Brom look to have taken a step closer to naming Marti Cifuentes as their new head coach.
The Baggies have been on the lookout for a new coach since pulling the sack trigger on Tony Mowbray after the defeat against Derby County.
This didn’t necessarily come as a surprise to many, but it appears that The Hawthorns’ hierarchy aren’t waiting around to find a replacement.
QPR boss Cifuentes has been heavily linked with a move to the Black Country, and now his odds to take over in the dugout have taken a sizable tumble.

Cifuentes now evens for West Brom takeover
There is a huge need for the right appointment to be made in B71 after a disastrous second half of the season in the Championship.
After looking to be a dead cert to secure a playoff spot under Carlos Corberan, it is safe to say it all went wrong under the ex-Sunderland boss.
The current QPR head coach could prove to be exactly what the doctor ordered for the Baggies faithful in terms of a progressive boss.
A move for Cifuentes appears to be moving quickly, with the 42-year-old seemingly keen on finding a resolution to a deal quickly.
This has been reflected by the odds with former Hammarby manager emerging as a clear favourite with his odds shortening to evens according to Odds Checker (29 April).
This leaves the Spaniard ahead of Ryan Mason and Gary O’Neil in the running at The Hawthorns, with a deal for the R’s boss appearing to be close.

West Brom edge closer to Cifuentes appointment
Despite there still being one game remaining in the campaign, it looks as if the Baggies have already sounded out their ideal candidate for the manager role.
There is no doubt that the ex-AaB boss has done an excellent job in Shepherd’s Bush and could look to reflect at that in the West Midlands.

It would certainly be interesting to see if he could get the best out of the likes of Mikey Johnston and Isaac Price next season, with playoffs surely the main goal.
The incoming deal may mean that Darnell Furlong goes the other way to Loftus Road, but that seems to be a fair trade for the Albion this summer.
