Agbonlahor can only smile at what’s been said about Cifuentes and West Brom
Gabby Agbonlahor was left grinning over the latest update regarding West Brom’s pursuit of Marti Cifuentes.
The Baggies are currently looking to fill the vacant managerial position at The Hawthorns following the sacking of Tony Mowbray.
The experienced manager had only been hired by West Brom in January of this year, but a poor run of form led to them cutting ties with Mowbray.
West Brom failed to reach the playoffs this season, which was seen as the aim, and now the Midlands club are focusing on finding a replacement.
Cifuentes has emerged as the heavy favourite to take on that position, despite being the current manager of QPR.

Marti Cifuentes will not get a positive response next season
The 42-year-old has been placed on gardening leave by his current club, with QPR opting to put their Assistant coaches in charge of their final fixture of the season.
It is seemingly a huge sign that the Spaniard will be departing Loftus Road to take up the West Brom job in the near future, in what would be a shocking turn of events.
Cifuentes had skipped training on Tuesday (29 April) in what was a surprising moment, but another one that seemed to hint at an imminent departure.

His future was discussed on talkSPORT (30 April, 7:27am), where it was pointed out it might be a rather hostile environment for him at Loftus Road next season if he does move to West Brom.
Agbonlahor simply smiled at that sentiment, as fellow former pro Shaun Derry went on to express his disappointment at the exit news.
Norwich have also entered the conversation
While West Brom fans might be confident that all of the recent behaviour and announcements point toward Cifuentes leaving QPR, they’re not the only team in the Championship looking for a new manager.
Norwich City are also looking to hire a new manager, and the Canaries have entered the race to sign Cifuentes according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
It means the QPR boss has multiple options to consider regarding his next move, which provides West Brom with some unexpected competition.
