Tory councillor sends message to West Brom, asks for Hawthorns deadline extension
West Brom have received a message from a Tory councillor amid issues at the Hawthorns.
The Baggies missed out on a playoff berth after a dismal run towards the end of the season and supporters are already getting ready for the new Championship campaign.
Season ticket renewals have begun but just like Albion’s struggles on the pitch, there have been problems surrounding the process that have left supporters frustrated.

Les Trumpeter issues West Brom request
Tory councillor Trumpeter has asked the Black Country club to assist supporters who are having issues with their season ticket renewal process.
The Charlemont with Grove Vale representative renewed his own family’s season tickets but had a glitch where under 14’s were showing as under-17’s and had to go to the ticket office at The Hawthorns to sort the problem.
He has urged the Baggies to extend the deadline, so that supporters who have faced the issue can get it sorted and not be left out of pocket.
Taking to his X account (30 April), he said: “Looking at comments on X and the messages I have received on WhatsApp this seems to be a common issue.
“Any chance of a short deadline extension please so you can assist fans who are struggling with this administration error?”
West Brom needs significant improvement
Albion require significant improvement both on and off the pitch at the moment if they are to achieve their promotion ambitions anytime soon.
Shilen Patel has done excellent work to stabilise the West Midlands outfit since taking over from the disastrous former owner Guochuan Lai but supporters have become frustrated with a lack of progress in recent weeks.
Championship | Played | GD | Points |
8. Blackburn | 45 | +5 | 65 |
9. Middlesbrough | 45 | +10 | 64 |
10. West Brom | 45 | +8 | 61 |
The Throstles looked set to secure a playoff spot throughout the season, however, a terrible run under beloved boss Mowbray, in which they won just five games from 18, left them out of contention for the end-of-season promotion showdown.
They are now set for another campaign in the second tier and a return to the Premier League seems like a very distant probability unless something changes drastically behind the scenes in the next few months.
The latest issues surrounding ticketing will not serve to decrease supporters’ anger, if anything it will only increase, especially if action is not taken to resolve the issue quickly and fans are left feeling the cost in an already hard time.
