Dike can be West Brom hero, replacement transfer needed now – 3 things learned v Luton

West Brom hammered Luton 5-3 on the final day of Championship action.

The result meant very little for the Baggies in terms of league position as they were already out of playoff contention.

However, it still gave Albion supporters some valuable takeaways heading into the new campaign where they will attempt to achieve Premier League promotion.

West Brom should not sell Tom Fellows

Fellows has been linked with a Premier League switch to Everton, but the Baggies must do everything in their power to keep him.

The Albion academy graduate has notched four goals and 14 assists in a remarkable campaign on a personal level and he will be vital to their promotion hopes next season.

The 21-year-old showed his class in the victory over Luton with two goals and an assist and must be kept at The Hawthorns, even if a huge fee is offered for his services.

He is far too valuable to the Black Country outfit and there is no guarantee that they could spend the money right and find a suitable replacement.

West Brom may need a new goalkeeper

Josh Griffiths has been a solid option between the sticks since Tony Mowbray decided to drop Joe Wildsmith.

The 23-year-old came into the starting line-up fresh from a brilliant loan spell with Bristol Rovers in League One and impressed in the majority of his appearances.

However, if the Baggies are to secure a playoff place next season, they may need to upgrade from the academy graduate, as the backline does not offer enough solidity for an inexperienced stopper to be the main man.

Daryl Dike proves he can be West Brom saviour

Daryl Dike has constantly struggled with an Achilles problem this season and has made just 11 appearances in the second-tier as a result.

The American striker reminded Baggies supporters why he is so highly-rated in the West Midlands with a superb display against the strugglers.

The 24-year-old notched his first goal in 482 days with a close-range header before assisting Fellows for his second of the contest.

If Dike can stay fit, he can be the difference maker in Albion’s push for the playoffs next season but that is a huge question mark heading into the new season.
