Fellows exceptional, 8/10 teammates shine – West Brom player ratings v Luton

West Brom beat Luton 5-3 in their final match of the Championship season.

The clash at The Hawthorns (3 May) meant little for the hosts as they could not reach the playoffs, but it was crucial for the Hatters.

The Baggies took the lead after eight minutes through a Tom Fellows strike, which somehow found its way past Thomas Kaminski.

Daryl Dike then scored his first goal in 482 days with a close-range header to restore Albion’s lead after the visitors had equalised.

Fellows then added a third before Callum Styles struck twice, which put Luton firmly in relegation danger, but it would end up being a positive afternoon for both sides.

Jordan Clark pulled back a consolation with a stunning strike from range that left Josh Griffiths helpless between the sticks, but it did not affect the result.

Millenic Alli scored another for the strugglers, but it was not enough as Hull City secured a draw with Portsmouth, which saw the former top-flight side relegated to League One.

West Brom News now rates the performance of each home player out of 10 in the victory.

Fellows and Dike shine in West Brom thrashing

Dike’s return to the starting line-up was the main talking point as the American striker scored his first goal in the league this season.

He also set up Fellows for his second strike of the afternoon in a positive display after a horrendous spell on the sidelines with injury.

The 24-year-old proved that he could be a difference maker in whether the Throstles make the playoffs next season if they can keep him fit.

Fellows also lit up the Black Country with his performance as he contributed two goals and an assist in the drubbing of the relegation-threatened side.

If Albion can keep hold of both stars, they should stand a really good chance of securing a return to the Premier League for the first time since the 2020-21 campaign.
