West Brom told to sign off on £20m Fellows exit after bombshell Birmingham City news

Tom Fellows has had a stellar Championship campaign for West Brom, but the Baggies could struggle to retain his services.

Fellows’ strong performances in the second tier for the Black Country outfit have attracted interest from Everton.

Southampton, who will be looking to bounce back to the Premier League this term, have also set their sights on creative wideman Fellows.

Perhaps more surprisingly, freshly crowned League One champions and West Midlands rivals Birmingham City are also keen on the 21-year-old.

West Brom fans react as Birmingham hold ‘genuine interest’ in Fellows

Only Portsmouth’s Josh Murphy was able to match Fellows’ Championship haul of 14 assists for West Brom.

Albion insider Dood revealed via X on 6 May: “Blues do hold a genuine interest in Fellows, but currently no bids at all from them. WBA want around £15/20million.”

West Brom Xtra replied: “He can go to any club for £20m for me,” while one fan commented: “It does make sense that deal, but obviously fans ain’t gonna be happy if it happens.”

West Brom could struggle to replace Fellows

Fellows has been a class act for the Baggies in the Championship this season, notching 18 goal contributions in 45 league outings.

Fellows has enjoyed an excellent season

While West Brom witnessed their playoff aspirations slip away, the England Under-21s international has been a shining light for the West Midlands outfit throughout the campaign.

It is no surprise, then, that Fellows has attracted plenty of interest in his services, including from Everton, who will look to progress in the Premier League under David Moyes.

Whether Fellows moves to the likes of Everton, or either Southampton or Birmingham, who will be competing in the Championship alongside the Baggies, remains to be seen.

But if he does depart The Hawthorns this summer, the 21-year-old will leave a big gap for Albion to plug in the summer transfer window.

Owner Shilen Patel already faces a big task on his hands in hiring the Baggies’ next permanent manager, but finding a Fellows replacement could also prove challenging.
