West Brom winger shares emotional goodbye message – ‘Don’t be sad’

West Brom are already shaping what their squad will look like for next season, and there could be several new faces.

The Baggies are yet to decide who their new manager will be following the departure of Tony Mowbray, and as seasons draw to a close, they will be assessing their squad.

West Brom have several young talents out on loan across the pyramid, and one who excelled this season could now return to the squad to play a part next season.

Reyes Cleary pens farewell after new exit

Young forward Reyes Cleary spent the season out on loan, initially at Walsall before joining Hartlepool in January.

It was in the National League with Hartlepool where he thrived, scoring six goals in 17 games and quickly becoming popular with their fans.

Cleary has now confirmed that he will exit the club following the completion of his loan, and took to Instagram to thank the Hartlepool fans.

“What a time it has been for me at this football club you given me the platform to showcase what I can do on the pitch the connection I have built with you will never be forgotten,” he posted.

“I would like to say thank you to all the players and staff for making me feel welcome from the first day I arrived and putting trust in me every time I stepped onto that pitch. Don’t be sad because it’s over, be happy because it happened.”

West Brom aware of Cleary’s talent

Although Cleary has a long way to go in his development, West Brom are well aware of the talent he possesses, having displayed it at youth level.

The attacker scored 25 goals in 32 games for the West Brom under 21 side, and an astonishing 29 goals in 32 games for the under 18s.

Cleary is out of contract at The Hawthorns at the end of the season, but the Baggies could extend his deal given his potential to explode in front of goal.

It does seem unlikely that he will form any part of the first-team next season, but Cleary could be one to look out for in the future.

With the likes of Adam Armstrong and Will Lankshear returning to their parent clubs and Grady Diangana set for the exit too, a door could very soon be opened at The Hawthorns.
