Bilkul blueprint detailed for Eric Ramsay in West Brom new manager update
West Brom owners Bilkul Football WBA remain in the hunt for a new manager, one week on from the Albion’s last Championship game.
The Black Country outfit defeated Luton 5-3 on 3 May under the stewardship of interim boss James Morrison.
But the Baggies endured a three-game winless run before their victory over the Hatters, while Easter Monday’s defeat to Derby County at The Hawthorns saw Tony Mowbray face the sack.
Minnesota United head coach Eric Ramsay has emerged as one of the favourites to become West Brom’s next manager.

Ramsay fits Bilkul’s blueprint
Ramsay was previously a coach at hometown club Shrewsbury and became the UK’s youngest UEFA pro licence holder at 27.

1 Vancouver | 11 | 14 | 26 |
2 Minnesota | 11 | 5 | 19 |
He held an academy role at Chelsea before becoming a coach at Manchester United, and he is now performing well in the MLS with Minnesota.
According to the Express & Star [9 May], the 33-year-old is the sort of youthful coach who fits the blueprint of Bilkul, who are leading West Brom’s managerial search.

Ramsay could be a great hire for West Brom
Although the Baggies’ last manager was 61-year-old Mowbray, it is no surprise that owners Bilkul have turned their attentions back to a younger manager.
Carlos Corberan, now 42 years old and in charge of La Liga outfit Valencia, did a great job in the West Brom dugout, steering the West Midlands side to the playoffs in 2023/24.
The Albion will be desperate to land a top-six spot again next term, and Ramsay could boast the credentials to do just that.
The 33-year-old has been a coach at high-profile clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United, while he was also on the Wales coaching team under Rob Page.
Since becoming a manager in how own right, Ramsay has proven his worth by steering Minnesota to sixth-place in the MLS Western Conference in 2024.
Ramsay’s men appear set for an even better finish in the 2025 MLS campaign, and the 33-year-old could be ready for the challenge of Championship football.
