West Brom hero now favourite to be new Rangers manager as odds slashed
West Brom are in the process of appointing a new manager after sacking Tony Mowbray towards the end of the season.
Although Mowbray returned to The Hawthorns just months prior, West Brom falling out of the play-offs was certainly not the plan which led to Shilen Patel making a change.
James Morrison oversaw the end of the campaign as interim boss, but the Baggies now need to identify a full-time appointment in preparation for the new campaign.

Derek McInnes making managerial move to Rangers
West Brom are one of several clubs that are looking for a new manager this summer.
John Mousinhio and Eric Ramsay have recently been the two bookmakers’ favourites in the Black Country, although it’s not known how close a decision is to being made.
Former Baggies captain Derek McInnes is set for his own managerial move this summer, with him now being linked to the Rangers vacancy.
Rangers are seeking a new boss to oversee things at Ibrox under with the 49ers Enterprises expected to complete a takeover in June.
McInnes is now being named as the bookmaker’s favourite for the job, with odds of 2/1 in his favour.

Patel has to nail West Brom appointment
Patel wasted no time in making the decision to sack Mowbray, but there was no one waiting in the wings to take his place.
The West Brom chief did not rush into the appointment of Mowbray when Carlos Corberan left The Hawthorns, but ultimately, it proved to be too much of a change for the outfit to deal with.

With that in mind, it’s understandable why a decision on who will be taking the club forward is taking a while, with plenty at stake at this time of the year.
Whoever arrives in the Black Country as the new boss will be required to oversee the transfer window and there is the feeling that there does need to be a refresh in the West Brom squad.
Therefore, there is pressure on the Baggies owner to get this appointment spot on, as it could be the difference between his side competing for Premier League football next season and flopping.
Patel has built up credit with the Albion supporters, and rightly so, but given the failure of the previous appointment that proved to be so costly, there can be no room for error this time round.
