West Brom fans say same thing about Fellows after big-money Sunderland news

West Brom could lose some of the best assets in their squad after failing to finish in the Championship playoffs.

The Baggies had hoped to land a top-six spot in the second tier for the second consecutive season, but instead endured a turbulent campaign which saw Tony Mowbray sacked after a 3-1 defeat to Derby on 21 April.

Meanwhile, Tom Fellows has attracted suitors in the transfer market, such as Premier League Everton, after notching 14 assists in a successful individual Championship campaign.

Perhaps more surprisingly, newly promoted West Midlands rivals Birmingham City are also interested in the 21-year-old as they look to re-establish themselves in the second tier.

West Brom fans make Fellows comparison as Jobe Bellingham valuation emerges

West Brom are not the only Championship club who could struggle to retain their best players in the summer transfer window, as Borussia Dortmund have set their sights on Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham.

According to Sky Sports Germany’s Patrick Berger via X (9 May), Bellingham is Dortmund’s number one transfer target, but will cost at least €25million.

One Baggies fan responded by posting: “In which case, Tom Fellows should not go for less than £25m. That’s the current market value, while another member of The Hawthorns faithful said: “Mad how a name can make you that expensive.”

West Brom’s search for a new manager is still ongoing

While the Albion may be facing an uphill battle to retain Fellows’ services this summer, owners Bilkul Football WBA also remain on the hunt for a new manager.

The Baggies faithful will be desperate to see the Black Country outfit land a play-off spot next term after witnessing the Baggies miss out this time around.

But to make that happen, Shilen Patel faces the toughest decision he has had to make since becoming chairman at The Hawthorns in 2024.

Portsmouth boss John Mousinho has been linked with a move to West Brom after steering Portsmouth to Championship safety with two games to spare.

Minnesota United head coach Eric Ramsay has also entered the frame after guiding his side to a positive start in the 2025 MLS campaign.

Whoever the Baggies’ next boss turns out to be, there is no doubt that the West Midlands outfit will have their sights firmly set on a playoff place.
