Maja and Heggem ‘set for shock exits’ in mega West Brom transfers
West Brom could potentially lose Josh Maja and Torbjorn Heggem in the upcoming transfer window, as interest has emerged.
The Nigeria international signed for the Baggies in 2023 and has shown great potential.
Maja has struggled with fitness issues at The Hawthorns, though, and it remains to be seen which team takes a possible gamble on him.
Heggem has been a revelation at the Albion, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see top clubs approach the West Midlands outfit for his signature.

West Brom exit expected for Maja and Heggem as interest emerges
It’d be shocking if both Maja and Heggem stay at The Hawthorns in the upcoming transfer window, DOOD says.
The Baggies insider revealed that the striker and centre-back are attracting a lot of interest ahead of next summer and their exit may be on the cards.
Player | Championship appearances | Minutes played |
Heggem | 45 | 4014 |
Maja | 26 | 2077 |
DOOD expects the West Midlands outfit to receive a significant sum for the Nigerian ace and the Norway international, which could be reinvested in the squad.
The insider wrote on X (13 May): “Maja and Heggem attracting lots of interest. I’d be shocked if both are with us next season, but we would get some great money for them, which will be reinvested.”
Heggem exit a big blow for new manager at The Hawthorns
Shilen Patel is searching for a new manager at The Hawthorns after sacking Tony Mowbray.
The likes of Tottenham coach Ryan Mason have been linked with taking charge of the Baggies next season.
Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes has also been suggested as one of the possible appointments at the Albion as they look to get a new manager soon.
Heggem’s departure will greatly affect West Brom, as he’s been a solid presence in defence for them.
While Maja is arguably the only prolific forward on the Baggies’ books, his consistent fitness issues make him unreliable.
The West Midlands outfit may sanction a major squad overhaul in the upcoming transfer window after failing to secure a play-off spot, but they should keep the 26-year-old Norwegian.
Whoever the next head coach is must be backed in the upcoming transfer window and given a squad capable of competing for Premier League promotion.
A new quality number nine should undoubtedly be one of the priorities for the Black Country club, and Maja’s exit may be something they’ll need to consider.
