West Brom next manager: Russell Martin odds now slashed, favourite named
West Brom’s hunt for a new manager has just taken yet another twist in the search for Tony Mowbray’s replacement.
The question on every Baggies fan’s lips at the moment is who is going to be the manager to lead the Black Country club into the 2025/26 campaign.
Numerous coaches have been linked, with Ryan Mason remaining the favourite for the West Brom post, with recent claims suggesting his appointment is “likely”.
However, despite Mowbray leaving The Hawthorns nearly a month ago, the Baggies have still not made an appointment.
Now, Russell Martin has emerged as one of the favourites for the position.

Russell Martin’s odds slashed to become next West Brom manager
Martin has been previously linked to the West Brom job as an outsider.
The former Southampton manager was sacked by the Saints this season after previously winning the playoffs for the South Coast club.
Martin was reportedly interviewed by the Baggies earlier this campaign before the eventual appointment of Mowbray.

However, there is a chance he could land the job at West Brom, according to the bookies.
BetVictor (14 May) now has Martin as the third favourite for the role at just 11/4. Oddschecker have him as the only candidate whose odds have shortened recently.
As it stands, Ryan Mason remains the favourite at 4/6, while James Morrison is second at 5/2.

Russell Martin would be a fantastic appointment for West Brom
Unlike many of the candidates linked to West Brom, Martin knows how to get out of the Championship.
Despite his failings in the Premier League, fans must not forget his achievements last season.
Southampton’s victory in the playoffs was highly impressive, especially against a tough Leeds side.
If Martin was appointed, there is no question that he would be able to get the club into the playoffs and challenge for promotion.
Hopefully, the bookies are right and West Brom are considering Martin, who would no doubt be a coup for the Black Country club.
