West Brom want to sign Cardiff star Yousef Salech in big summer deal

West Brom are already making recruitment plans despite not having a permanent manager in post at The Hawthorns.

After the disappointment of missing out on a spot in the play-offs, it is imperative that West Brom get every decision right this summer on all fronts.

The decision on who will be the next manager at West Brom will be their number one priority, but recruitment over the next few months is going to be just as important to their future aspirations.

With that in mind, Albion are already making progress when it comes to identifying potential summer recruits, with Cardiff’s Yousef Salech now linked.

Cardiff City look set to lose key players after relegation

West Brom need to show some serious improvement when it comes to recruitment this summer, after the failures of the last few campaigns.

While plenty of the blame has been forced upon the shoulders of the managers, especially that of Tony Mowbray for this season, their lack of quality in this Baggies side has prevented them from making any real progress on the pitch, and that will need to change.

Thankfully, via a report from DOOD, Albion look prepared to do that, with it claimed that they are interested in signing Cardiff City’s Salech, who has been one of their only bright sparks in an otherwise dismal campaign.

The Danish 23-year-old has nine goal contributions for the side that finished bottom of the Championship, despite only starting 14 games.

Several other Championship clubs are said to have been alerted to his availability, with it looking likely that he will be moving this summer.

West Brom have a huge few months ahead

Several managers have been linked with the job at The Hawthorns, and until that situation is unresolved, Albion will be somewhat limited in what they can do on the recruitment front.

After the length of time it took to appoint Carlos Corberan’s replacement, West Brom need to act much quicker and ensure that whoever comes in has a full pre-season under his belt with the squad.
