Exclusive: Jamie Donley sources react to West Brom transfer news
West Brom have been linked with a move for Tottenham youngster Jamie Donley this summer.
West Brom’s season came to an uneventful end after their play-off hopes collapsed.
As a result, Tony Mowbray was shown his marching orders, with the Baggies currently searching for their next permanent manager.
After a disappointing year and the determination to finish better in the next, the Baggies will look to strengthen the squad over the summer, with Donley emerging as a target.

West Brom make contact with Tottenham about Donley
West Brom signed Will Lankshear on loan from Tottenham in the winter transfer window, and have now lodged an enquiry to sign Donley from the North London club [Birmingham World].
The 19-year-old has had an impressive season for Leyton Orient in League One, and the Baggies have contacted Tottenham to asses Donley’s avaliblity and whether the Lilywhites would be wiling to loan the England youth international out again next season.

However, while speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham, who has close connections to Donley, revealed that a move is not currently on the cards.
“Obviously, West Brom don’t have a manager at the moment,” Wenham said.
“When I put the question to those who know Donley, it was news to them. Therefore, I’d say that is a complete non-starter at the moment.”
West Brom need to find a new manager
Donley would be an excellent addition for Albion; he has a knack for goals and provided more assists than any other player in League One this season.
He is the perfect modern-day playmaker. However, West Brom may miss out on him if a new manager is not found imminently.
It is not as if the Baggies do not have possible options, QPR boss Marti Cifuentes, Minnesota’s Eric Ramsay and interim manager James Morrison have all been linked with the vacancy at The Hawthorns.
However, with the play-offs a key objective for the new season, West Brom are going to need to decide quickly, especially if they want to win the race for Donley’s signature.
