Pardew still haunted as he makes on-air West Brom and Jamie Vardy admission
Jamie Vardy’s future remains up in the air ahead of his Leicester exit, with Alan Pardew highlighting one thing that still bothers him today.
West Brom will be sharing a league with Leicester City once again next season, though it isn’t something either side will be proud of.
Leicester’s lack of quality prevented them from putting up any real fight in the Premier League, with a number of factors preventing the Baggies from making a return to the top flight.
However, probably for the better of those at The Hawthorns, Vardy may not be in the same league as West Brom ahead of his summer exit, and Pardew is still haunted by what the veteran striker did to his side a few years ago.

Vardy has caused plenty of damage to West Brom
West Brom often ship goals at the best of times, but not anywhere near as much as when Vardy is on the pitch, though they may be able to avoid that next season.
Vardy announced that he is leaving Leicester at the end of the campaign, and while a move to the Championship elsewhere may still happen, Albion supporters can take some heart from the fact that he won’t be playing against them as it stands.

However, after news of his exit dropped, Pardew instantly brought up a previous encounter with the striker, and he was visibly distraught at the thought of the damage he had done.
Speaking via talkSPORT (18 May), the former Baggies boss said: “I also remember when I was at West Brom, and we were struggling for our lives, and we took the lead and then just one ball in behind, and he went and volleyed it, smashed it straight into the corner, and the game changed on its head.
“We lost all confidence, and that is what he was about. He could change games quickly.”
West Brom to sign Vardy?
Given his stock and the wages he’s likely on, Albion don’t really stand a chance of bringing him to The Hawthorns, but he is the type of striker they need to recruit.
West Brom lack that bit of bite in the final third, and also don’t have an awful lot of experience in the squad as a whole.
Recruitment is going to be crucial this summer if Albion are to have any chance of making a return to the Premier League next season, while also needing to find a swift resolution to the current managerial uncertainty.
