Agbonlahor in trouble with Aston Villa fans after West Brom comment
Gabby Agbonlahor has spoken out about West Brom in a move which is bound to leave Aston Villa fans fuming.
The Baggies are on the hunt for a new head coach after missing out on the Championship play-off spots this campaign.
This has seen Ryan Mason linked with the job, potentially with the remit of pushing towards promotion if he is to take over this summer.
With that in mind, Agbonlahor has made a comment about the Albion that is unlikely to sit well with the Villa Park faithful.

Agbonlahor backs West Brom in promotion comment
There is no doubt that Villa’s second top Premier League scorer is raging after his side fell to defeat against Manchester United on Sunday (25 May).
This saw the Villans miss out on Champions League football on goal difference, in controversial fashion.
It is fair to say Unai Emery’s frustrations went down well with fans in B71 who weren’t particularly upset to see their Midlands rivals’ downfall at Old Trafford.
Position | Club | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
3. | Manchester City | 38 | +28 | 71 |
4. | Chelsea | 38 | +21 | 69 |
5. | Newcastle United | 38 | +21 | 66 |
6. | Aston Villa | 38 | +7 | 66 |
7. | Nottingham Forest | 38 | +12 | 65 |
Even with that being said, Agbonlahor has revealed that he would like to see the Baggies and Birmingham City in the Premier League.
With both in the Championship again next season, their promotion could lead to a sizable number of derby clashes in the top division.
Speaking on talkSPORT (26 May, 09:57am), Agbonlahor has revealed the disagreement with Villa fans over his opinion towards their main rivals.
He said: “I actually want them [Birmingham City] to come up, I’m not even lying.
“I get told off by Villa fans, ‘Keep them down there’, but I want the local teams, I want West Brom as well in the Premier League, get the derby games in. I want them in the Premier League and I want them to suffer.”
Agbonlahor in shocking West Brom and Birmingham dream
It is certainly a shock that such a devout Aston Villa fan would have such high hopes for the future of the Blues and the Baggies.
With that being said, it would certainly be huge if both were promoted next season to ensure some huge matches in the Premier League.
Sunderland are now preparing, after their promotion, for clashes against Newcastle United, with the Baggies potentially set to similarly plan in the coming years.
It will certainly be interesting to see what happens in the near future and what Mason, or whoever else comes in, can do to fulfil Agbonlahor’s dream.
