West Brom told anything could happen as talks held with managerial candidate

West Brom are continuing talks ahead of finally naming their new head coach.

There have been a number of names linked to the vacant role at The Hawthorns after months without a manager.

Since the sacking of Tony Mowbray, there have been constant links to new bosses while James Morrison saw out the season on a temporary basis.

Now it appears that talks are continuing in B71 as a variety of head coach options are considered ahead of the summer window.

West Brom continue new manager talks

Multiple managerial options have been considered in the Black Country, with Eric Ramsay recently linked to the role.

Other more high-profile options like Russell Martin have also been mooted despite no deal currently going through at this stage.

With that being said, it does appear that Shilen Patel and Co. are moving closer to finding their man moving into the summer.

This has seen Ryan Mason hold talks at The Hawthorns ahead of a potential move from Tottenham after winning the Europa League.

The English coach is said to be weighing up his options away from North London after working under Ange Postecoglou for the last two seasons.

As a potential switch for the 33-year-old hangs in the balance, DOOD (26 May) has said: “It’s not 100 per cent done yet, anything could still happen, but conversations have been held.”

Mason talks continue at West Brom

There is no doubt that the Spurs coach would represent a risk for the Baggies given his inexperience as a first-team manager.

Mason is clearly very highly rated at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and could prove to be a coup in B71 moving into the new campaign.

With that being said, someone like Martin could prove to be a wiser option given his recent promotion credentials with Southampton in years gone by.

It does feel as if Mason is the go-to man as it stands for Patel, who is continuing talks ahead of a potential move in the coming days.
