West Brom move with the times as Patel-backed announcement made

Shilen Patel has made a series of changes to West Brom since the end of the Championship season.

While the Baggies’ search for a new manager continues, Patel has wasted no time in making other preparations both on and off the pitch.

The Hawthorns has implemented safe standing in recent weeks, ready for the 2025/26 campaign.

On top of this, trees have been planted outside The Hawthorns to freshen up the area around the ground..

Now, the West Brom owner has taken another step to modernise the Black Country club.

West Brom officially launch Fan Advisory Board

West Brom’s supporters have now been given a bigger voice inside the Black Country club.

As announced by West Brom’s official website on Tuesday (27 May), they have now added a Fan Advisory Board (FAB) to their list of changes this month.

Patel has endorsed the decision to implement a FAB as part of the Black Country club’s wider Fan Engagement Plan.

It will be a high-level, strategic conduit for two-way dialogue between supporters and the club’s key decision makers.

The first meeting is set to take place in September 2025 and will allow the exchange of ideas and feedback on a formal basis.

Patel deserves praise for his modernisation of West Brom

Since his arrival, Patel has made multiple changes to the Baggies to help modernise the Black Country club.

The addition of a FAB isn’t needed. Yet, Patel has made this positive change despite the potential criticism he could face in these meetings.

The West Brom owner should be praised for this as he is going out of his way to make the Baggies more accessible to supporters.

Now, all that is needed is for a new manager to come and start preparing the squad for the upcoming campaign.

Hopefully, Patel can quickly get this over the line in the coming weeks in order to give West Brom the best chance of promotion.
