West Brom fans react as Daryl Dike transfer news emerges – ‘Sell him’

Daryl Dike has once again finished a season at West Brom, hampered by huge injury issues.

The Baggies‘ forward has had a frustrating time in the Black Country after joining the club in 2022, and a return to the MLS has already been mentioned.

Injuries have plagued Dike, and he looks set to leave the Albion, with multiple clubs being interested in the 24-year-old.

With just one year remaining on his contract, West Brom must cash in on Dike or risk losing him on a free transfer next year.

West Brom fans are split on Dike exit talks

Ryan Mason looks set to join West Brom and fill their managerial vacancy.

Any manager is likely to find it hard to trust a player who has made just one start in the two seasons to lead the line consistently.

The American striker has only been available for selection on a somewhat regular basis in just one out of his three and a half seasons at the club.

Dike has started 16 league matches during his tenure at West Brom, with 14 of those coming in the 2022/23 season.

During that campaign, Dike scored seven goals in those 14 starts. This form displayed his talents to Albion supporters as he showed that when he is fit and available, he can be a valuable squad member.

West Brom fans were left split by the news of a possible exit for the American.

Dike initially joined West Brom for a reported £7.4 million. The Baggies are unlikely to make their money back, but if they can recoup some of their investment, then a sale seems like a wise decision.

Albion need to sign another striker

As West Brom look at potential signings to aid their bid for promotion next season, signing a new striker seems to be a necessity.

Dike looks set to leave, whilst Adam Armstrong’s loan spell proved to be underwhelming.

With Josh Maja also having injury troubles of his own, West Brom desperately need more depth up front.

In addition to this, more reinforcements are needed in defence and midfield after it was announced that Semi Ajayi, Grady Diangana and John Swift would leave West Brom upon the expiration of their contracts.

West Brom have already identified targets in some of these areas, with defender Gora Diouf being linked to the Baggies.

However, the search for a new striker continues, and it may not be clear who the club want to sign until the Albion announces Mason as their new manager.
