Tottenham next manager: Ex-West Brom boss now shock contender amid Postecoglou sack news

Tottenham could find a replacement for Ange Postecoglou in the shape of a former West Brom manager.

The Lilywhites could be set to part ways with their Australian head coach despite lifting silverware in N17 for the first time in over 17 years.

Despite this, it appears that chairman Daniel Levy has reached the end of his patience after his side finished 17th in the Premier League.

This could result in an ex-Baggies favourite taking up the job in North London after departing the role at The Hawthorns.

Tottenham set to find Postecoglou replacement

It feels as if the former Celtic boss has reached the end of the line despite the end-of-season success he witnessed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Lifting the Europa League was the most celebrated moment for Spurs in recent history after last winning a trophy in 2008.

That doesn’t look likely to be enough for him to maintain his job with the sack looking increasingly likely as Levy looks set to make a decision over the Aussie’s future.

With Ryan Mason potentially set to come in at West Brom as manager, the Lilywhites’ coaching staff could be set for an overhaul.

It is a former Albion boss who could be set to move to the capital after Carlos Corberan emerged as the second favourite for the role with odds of 7/2 [BetVictor, 1 June].

This could see the Spaniard take up a Premier League role just months after departing The Hawthorns for Valencia, where he has gone on to do an exceptional job.

The 42-year-old sits ahead of the likes of Oliver Glasner, Xavi and Marco Silva to take over from Postecoglou ahead of the new Premier League season.

West Brom favourite Corberan in running for Tottenham job

There are very few Albion fans who have anything bad to say about the ex-Huddersfield Town boss, despite his Christmas Eve departure.

As a result, it would be interesting to see him showcase his coaching talents in the Premier League, especially after a superb stint in LaLiga.

Corberan has been a shining light at Valencia and could replicate that success in England’s top flight if he were to land the Spurs job.

This could lead to a link emerging between the Lilywhites and the Baggies once again, with Mason in charge and Mikey Moore linked with a potential B71 switch.
