Shankland agents at work as West Brom transfer decision due within days
West Brom are looking to begin a busy transfer window under the new direction of Ryan Mason.
Recruitment preparation is beginning for West Brom’s next season in the Championship, after narrowly missing out on the play-offs.
Albion released 14 players from the squad last month, making room for new arrivals at The Hawthorns this summer.
Mason may be looking to bring Tottenham youngsters along with him, including promising youngster Mikey Moore.
Albion fans hope the new manager can attract fresh talent and help bring the club closer to aspirations of Premier League promotion.
Hearts defender James Penrice has become a key target, with Albion also keeping an eye on another Hearts player.

West Brom target starts contract negotiations
West Brom have previously expressed interest in Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland.
Shankland’s future is uncertain, with his contract set to expire next week, he could leave on a free transfer.
West Brom, Southampton and Rangers have been monitoring the striker, with each team’s managerial changes encouraging new recruitment.
However, according to Edinburgh News (5 June), detailed talks over a contract extension at Hearts are taking place between Shankland and senior club officials.
The 29-year-old rejected two new deals from Hearts last summer, but is reportedly open to remaining in Tynecastle.
The Scotland international has had a successful time at Hearts after joining in 2023, scoring 24 goals in 37 matches in the Premiership last season.
This season has seen the striker net eight goals, most notably scoring four and assisting twice in the Premiership Relegation matches.

Shankland should be a key target for West Brom
West Brom are likely to be looking for a new striker to join the side, after the loans of Adam Armstrong and Will Lankshear ended.
Both strikers failed to have their desired effect in the Championship, with a combined 27 appearances and three goals between them.

Shankland’s performance for Hearts across the last two seasons has shown that his capabilities and talent could be just what West Brom need for their attack.
As the 29-year-old is also out of contract, a free transfer is even more attractive for the Baggies as PSR concerns overshadow the transfer window.
After securing Mason, player recruitment is even more important for the upcoming season, and Albion should try to convince Shankland to make the move to the Hawthorns.
