West Brom ‘to rethink plans’ after Postecoglou sack at Tottenham
West Brom may well have based some of their summer transfer plans around proceedings at Tottenham.
Ryan Mason joined West Brom from Tottenham after he spent the last few years as an assistant there, but they are now looking for a new manager themselves.
Ange Postecoglou has been sacked despite winning the Europa League, with their domestic campaign deemed unacceptable by the Tottenham hierarchy.
Carlos Corberan has been linked as his replacement, while West Brom will also be wary that one of their targets may no longer be available.

West Brom interest in Mikey Moore jeopardised by Postecoglou sack
West Brom are interested in Tottenham wonderkid Mikey Moore, and have been strongly linked with a loan move for the teenager.
Moore is one of Tottenham’s biggest talents, and Mason’s appointment could see him lure the attacker to The Hawthorns.
However, this may now be complicated by Postecoglou’s dismissal. While the Australian may have been happy to loan him out, Spurs may now think twice before sanctioning a move.
Mikey Moore’s 2024/25 Europa League statistics | Total |
Appearances | 5 |
Goals | 1 |
Goal conversion | 11% |
Assists | 1 |
Touches | 42 |
Big chances created | 1 |
Their next manager may wish to keep him, and an exit may not be allowed until there is more clarity over who will replace Postecoglou.
With West Brom keen on conducting their business quickly, they may have no choice but to move on from Moore as a target.
West Brom need attacking reinforcements
Whether or not West Brom manage to sign Moore, they will need attacking reinforcements across the front line if they are to challenge for promotion.
Grady Diangana is among the players who have departed, while Spurs loanee Will Lankshear has now returned to his parent club.
Signing Moore would be a coup, but at 17, he may not be ready to play a regular role in the first team, and another addition would be necessary on top.
The Baggies may have a good relationship with Spurs after recent deals for Mason and Lankshear, so if Moore is to be allowed out on loan, they may be in the best position to sign him.
West Brom need to quickly establish whether Moore will be available and need to move on rapidly if Spurs indicate that their stance has changed.
