Torbjorn Heggem could be on the move from West Brom this summer, with interest building ahead of the transfer window.

New manager Ryan Mason is settling into life at The Hawthorns as the first phase of the transfer window closes ahead of its official reopening on 16 June.

The 33-year-old is already working closely with club officials and scouting staff to identify key targets that align with his long-term vision.

With his fresh approach and modern coaching style, the former Spurs man will aim to inject energy into a squad that narrowly missed out on the play-offs last term.

Key players, such as Heggem, will be crucial as Mason looks to build on the foundations.

Heggem attracts interest from abroad

Currently on international duty with Norway, Heggem has attracted interest from Serie A side Bologna following a strong campaign last season.

Tutto Mercato Web has reported that the Italian club has added Heggem to its watch list and sent scouts to monitor his performances during the international break.

However, Bologna’s primary target at the back remains his international teammate David Moller Wolfe.

Mason is ready to make massive changes

It's not only outgoings that are on the agenda already, with Mason looking at sweeping changes.

With Semi Ajayi, Grady Diangana and John Swift among senior players released, all areas of the pitch need strengthening, so keeping Heggem would help.

Lawrence Shankland has been tipped to seal a free transfer move from Scotland to West Brom already, with all systems going already.

The Hearts striker scored eight goals in the Scottish Premiership last season and played a key role in their campaign.

However, West Brom will need to act fast, with interest from Saudi Arabia also growing - clubs there could tempt him with more lucrative offers.

That is the sort of competition facing many clubs, so there will certainly be temptation to cash in and help their cause if big offers come in for the likes of Heggem.

If you asked hundreds of West Brom fans one player they would like to keep, the towering defender would be very close to the top of that list, so he has to stay.
