‘Diangana could knock back Corberan’ for mega money after West Brom exit

West Brom have already announced the exit of several key players.

The Baggies have confirmed Ryan Mason as their new manager, with a summer revamp ahead as they aim to challenge for Premier League promotion next season.

Grady Diangana is due to end his six-year stay at the Baggies, with West Brom confirming he will leave as a free agent alongside John Swift and Semi Ajayi on 30 June.

Diangana could accept mega-money exit

West Brom scheduled contract talks with Diangana, but the Congo international decided against extending his stay at The Hawthorns.

With his contract running out at the end of June, he has been approached by AI Ettifaq.

Carlos Corberán, ex-West Brom manager, has a history of signing former players and is now actively pursuing Diangana for Valencia, alongside Ron Gourlay.

Since leaving the Baggies, Corberán has saved Valencia from relegation and finished the season in La Liga, 12th.

He is now looking to strengthen his squad for next season and has turned to West Brom for his former players, which is where Diangana comes in.

With Saudi clubs circling, though, the Congolese winger could knock back Corberán for a mega-money move in his career.

Despite his preference currently being to remain in Europe, anything could change when money is put on the table.

Is La Liga the wrong move?

The 27-year-old had a difficult end at The Hawthorns.

At the start of his time with the Baggies, he hit heights immediately in the Premier League, turning his initial loan into a permanent stay from West Ham.

He will leave after scoring four goals and providing three assists last season in 34 competitive matches, perhaps a big reason why West Brom didn’t push for promotion closer.

In his Baggies career, he has made 202 appearances and scored 26 times, making him a good servant, most known for his exploits alongside the likes of Matheus Pereira.

To go from struggling in the Championship to playing against the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, though, may prove a step too far for Diangana.

This is certainly one to watch as his West Brom career trickles to a close, with Saudi now calling.
