West Brom ‘can profit big time from Diangana’ with new contract twist

Grady Diangana’s future could yet take a turn if West Brom want to profit from his exit.

Ahead of yet another campaign in the Championship, West Brom have a lot of work to do in preparation.

After the disappointment of missing out on a top-six finish, Ryan Mason will be fully aware of the need to improve next season, though much of that will come down to recruitment.

His appointment at The Hawthorns may open up the door to bringing in Tottenham youngsters, though he will be just as keen to secure permanent arrivals from elsewhere.

However, in order to do that, the Baggies may have to sell a few players to raise the funds to do so, and Diangana could yet be one of them.

Saudi interest could be used as leverage for West Brom

Diangana, ever since making the permanent move to Albion, has failed to live up to the expectations that were initially set for him, though he has contributed from time to time.

With Diangana out of contract this summer, clubs from the Saudi Pro League have expressed an interest, and if a deal can be arranged, it may make sense for an extension to be offered.

If Albion can extend his contract even by a year, it would allow them to at least receive a fee for his exit and recoup some of the finances involved in bringing him to The Hawthorns in the first place.

Mason will need funds available to mould his squad the way he wants it this summer, and this could be a smart move to secure some additional money.

West Brom need to give Mason what he wants

Managers very rarely succeed if they aren’t given access to their own players, who can play the way they want to, and it will be no different for Mason.

Especially given his lack of experience, it is crucial that Mason is able to bring his own identity to the Midlands, and recruitment will play a part in that.

These next few months will certainly be interesting, yet also vital that Albion make the right calls.
