West Brom fans find proof they’re the biggest club in the EFL
West Brom have developed an impressive history over their 147-year existence.
Many of the older Baggies fans will remember their historic run during the late 1960s and the FA Cup final victory against Everton.
Younger supporters might remember The Albion’s thrilling 5-5 draw with Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku starting to make a name for himself.
Now, West Brom have another moment they can brag about to their Championship rivals.

West Brom boast most seasons in Premier League among EFL clubs
The last time West Brom were in the top flight was the 2020/21 season, in which the Baggies endured a miserable campaign.
Sam Allardyce replaced Slaven Bilic halfway through the season and had The Albion sleepwalking towards relegation.
Memories of their last season in the Premier League are not fond, but many will look back at some of their 81 seasons in the top flight with pride.
Compared to their fellow English Football League clubs, West Brom boast the most seasons in the first division of English football.
The Hawthorns’ side are above Bolton in second (73) and Blackburn in third (72).
Their West Midlands rivals, Birmingham, have 24 fewer seasons in the first division than the Baggies, as they prepare to lock horns in the Championship again.
Baggies fans on X have commended themselves as the biggest club in the EFL following the news.
One user said, “We’re astronomically the biggest club in the EFL”.
Another West Brom fan celebrated the news with a new Baggies chant of his own: “Most Seasons In The Top Flight (EFL Clubs Only) – You’ll Never Sing That.”
Another of The Hawthorns’ faithful mocked opposition fans who claim that West Brom are a small club as he commented, “Oh….little old West Brom you say?”
West Brom destined for Premier League return
Since their relegation to the Championship in 2021, Baggies fans have been hoping for a return to the Premier League.
In recent seasons, it has seemed a question of when, not if, West Brom return to the top flight.
Ryan Mason’s side are a huge club, rich with history and deserving of a Premier League squad.
The Baggies have continued to flirt with the play-offs since their relegation, but with a fresh start under Mason, there seems to be a sense of optimism that West Brom can make a real go of it next season.
