West Brom ‘ready to hijack Norwich deal’ to sign Jakov Medic
West Brom are searching for a new defender this summer as they look to rebuild their squad under Ryan Mason.
Reinforcing the Baggies’ backline this summer is a must if they want to properly challenge for promotion to the Premier League next season.
West Brom have been linked with Gora Diouf, who is now a free agent after leaving FC Sion; however, due to work permit restrictions, he looks unlikely to move to The Hawthorns.
As a result, Mason has seemingly moved on to another target, with West Brom linked with Jakov Medic.

West Brom set to battle Norwich for Medic
West Brom are continuing their hunt for signings from overseas this summer as a means to reinforce their squad, at a possibly cheaper price.
According to De Telegraaf (18 June), the Baggies are set to challenge Norwich City for the Ajax star Medic.
The 26-year-old, who can operate either at centre-back or as a defensive midfielder, has struggled to make an impact since joining the Dutch giants in 2023.
As a result, the Croat was loaned to VfL Bochum last season, where he was unable to prevent their relegation from the Bundesliga.

Now, Ajax reportedly want £2.6 million for the defender, with Norwich leading the race.
Multiple German sides are also looking to challenge the two Championship clubs for his signature.

Medic has the experience to be a success at West Brom
While Medic may have never played in England before, he has experience at multiple other top teams that could help him adapt to the Championship.
On top of Ajax, the defender has played for St. Pauli, where he had success.
Standing at six feet three inches, he could be an exciting option for Mason and be a real brick wall at the back, with Semi Ajayi moving on once his contract expires.
Hopefully, The Hawthorns club will now hijack Norwich’s deal for the defender and get the signing over the line.
