West Brom fans ‘over the moon’ as ‘quality’ David Brooks transfer news emerges

West Brom’s summer finally looks set to heat up after a bleak start to the transfer window.

It took a while for The Albion to find their man, but at the start of June, the Baggies finally announced the appointment of Ryan Mason.

Mason, 34, now looks set to accelerate plans to build his squad for next season, with Bournemouth star David Brooks reportedly on his radar.

West Brom fans amazed by David Brooks interest

West Brom are yet to make a signing this summer after releasing John Swift, Grady Diangana and Semi Ajayi.

Baggies supporters have been hoping for a return for fan favourite Cedric Kipre this summer, and Tottenham’s Mikey Moore has been linked with a reunion with Mason.

Now, West Brom are reportedly interested in Bournemouth’s David Brooks.

Brooks, 27, signed for the Cherries in 2018, and after battling cancer in 2021, the Welshman had a spell at Southampton on loan before returning to Bournemouth.

The former Man City youth player played 29 games on the south coast last season.

However, with only nine starts, Brooks could be looking for a move away this summer, with West Brom a potential destination.

The winger could be a replacement for Albion’s playmaker Tom Fellows, with his future currently uncertain.

Many fans believe the potential transfer would be too good to be true.

Brooks would be a statement for the Baggies and would boost hopes of West Brom’s push for promotion next season.

Brooks a statement signing that would shock the Championship

Brooks has shown in recent seasons that he can compete in the Premier League, so anyone who signs him at Championship level would excel.

The Welshman showed how good he was as a youngster at Sheffield United and has continued to develop into an impressive playmaker.

At 27, Brooks would benefit from a drop back into the Championship as he can show what he has still got in his prime footballing years.

West Brom will face stiff competition, with Brooks’ former side, Sheffield United, holding a special bond with the Welshman.

Elsewhere, the Baggies will face a battle to keep hold of Torbjorn Heggem, who has attracted interest from Bologna.

Ryan Mason faces a busy few weeks, which could make or break West Brom’s 2025/26 campaign.
