West Brom ‘to seal permanent Nat Phillips transfer’ after Liverpool contract update
West Brom look set to seal the signing of Liverpool defender Nat Phillips.
Shilen Patel and Co are dreaming of a return to the Premier League and have appointed Ryan Mason to help them achieve that goal after a miserable end to the last campaign under Tony Mowbray.
The former Tottenham man needs players who have experience at the top level, and it appears that he is going to have a leader at the back after the latest update from Anfield.

West Brom set to sign Phillips from Liverpool
Phillips was loved by Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and would be a brilliant marquee signing for Mason in his first managerial role.
Telegraph journalist John Percy reported (23 June) that Albion are closing in on the 28-year-old in a permanent transfer from the Reds.
It states that the centre-back, who spent last season on loan with Derby County, has one year left on his deal on Merseyside.
Phillips is a major coup for West Brom
Phillips has worked under two of the best coaches in the game, playing a significant amount for Klopp in the 2020-21 season as injuries decimated the Reds.
He would bring valuable experience to The Hawthorns, and his signature could be a huge boost for the Albion in terms of the promotion race, as he has learnt from the likes of Virgil van Dijk.
He impressed at Derby last season, making 32 appearances in the second tier and helping to keep the Rams in the division, but his level is much higher than that, as he has featured in the Champions League with the top-flight giants.
Iconic commentator Ian Darke told Liverpool News that Phillips would be a “fine signing” for a team that are seeking promotion, like the Baggies.
It is a major show of ambition from Bilkul Football and sets up Mason perfectly for success in his first job as a manager.
Obviously, they need to make more top-quality signings in order to be up towards the top of the league but it is a brilliant first move and one that should give supporters plenty of excitement.
