West Brom make Barry Bannan offer as Sheffield Wednesday trouble continues

Now, details have emerged of an offer for Sheffield Wednesday star Barry Bannan, who could become a casualty of real ownership trouble in South Yorkshire.

Mason is said to be working on several West Brom transfers ahead of his first season in permanent management.
In terms of Championship jobs, they do not come much bigger than the Baggies, meaning the 34-year-old must sign well.
With that in mind, the former Tottenham assistant manager is clearly eyeing experience to aid his tenure in the West Midlands.
West Brom have offered Bannan a 12-month deal, with an option for a further year, according to Dood.

The Owls’ captain is one year older than Mason and will become a free agent at the end of the month, unless he accepts the offer on the table from the Hillsborough club.
Sheffield Wednesday are currently in a spot of financial bother and have been placed under a transfer embargo by the EFL.
Whether that will influence Bannan’s decision is unknown, but it is something he will be considering.
Bannan would be a smart Baggies signing for Mason
While many teams are after young players with their futures ahead of them, West Brom are right to be taking a different approach to start the summer.
Of course, there is a need for youth and potential, but there is also a necessity for the here and now, especially as The Hawthorns club have immediate promotion aspirations.
Anyone who has watched Bannan knows he is a leader of men, but that is not the only strength to his game.
The central midfielder dictates play and can spray a pass while being tough in a challenge.
Bannan has considerable experience, with just under 400 Championship appearances to his name, as well as two promotions.
Yes, he has played for Aston Villa, but that would all be forgiven if he made the move to The Hawthorns.
