Shilen Patel hailed as ‘wonderful’ West Brom appointment confirmed
West Brom are ready to push for promotion back to the Premier League again.
Although it was an optimistic start to last season under Carlos Corberan, his departure and Tony Mowbray’s subsequent appointment left the Baggies falling further down the table.
Nevertheless, Shilen Patel has identified Ryan Mason as the man to take things forward and the new boss will be ready to make additions to his squad.

West Brom announce new arrival
While it has not always been easy at The Hawthorns, Patel has done well to get things back in order in the Black Country.
That will need to be backed up on the pitch, though, meaning Mason will need the necessary support to deliver on the pitch.
The owner is showing positive change off the field as well, reflected by the return of Dave Bowler.
Bowler previously spent two decades working in the communications department for West Brom, writing in the programme, Albion News and co-commenting on the radio.
Now, he returns to The Hawthorns to take on a role as the club’s historian as the Baggies prepare to celebrate 125 years at their stadium next season and 150 years in existence in 2028.
Bowler is highly respected by those in the stands, and his return to the Albion has been praised, with fans calling the move “wonderful” and “brilliant.”
Mason needs to get going at West Brom
West Brom will want to be wary about PSR restrictions this summer, having been burned before, but the new boss certainly needs reinforcements too.
Having made the move from Tottenham, there is the possibility that he will be able to use his connections to bring exciting loanees to The Hawthorns, although he will want to see permanent additions too.
Patel has to back the boss this summer, to allow for the best opportunity to succeed next term as competition in the Championship will be rising.

The Baggies came close last term, but fell away at just the wrong time.
Next season, they have to be prepared to build on that and go all the way as they seek a return to the Premier League again.
