Sky Sports make announcement ahead of West Brom’s 2025-26 fixture release

West Brom are set to learn their fixtures for the upcoming Championship season on Thursday.

The Baggies are likely to have a fairly new-look side under new boss Ryan Mason, and they are set to find out all the key dates for the upcoming campaign over the next 24 hours.

Albion’s season ended in disappointing fashion last time out, as they ultimately missed out on a play-off spot, despite flirting with the top six for the majority of the season.

However, there is plenty of optimism that with Shilen Patel and Mason at the helm, the West Midlands outfit could be primed for another shot at promotion next season.

Sky Sports will show every EFL game on the opening day

Hopes are high among the West Brom fanbase that they could be in a position to mount a genuine promotion push by the time the opening day of the season comes around.

Fixture release day is undoubtedly one of the most exciting parts of a summer for any supporter, as they can begin to plan their trips for the season and eye up potential high-profile clashes.

Sky Sports have announced that they will be broadcasting every single game on the opening day of the season across the Championship, League One and League Two, according to The Guardian (25 June).

The EFL have introduced a staggered start to this year’s campaign, with the Championship opening seven days after the lower divisions.

That is to ensure that almost all of the televised games can still kick off at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon for the opening round of fixtures.

The Premier League then begins two weeks later, meaning the TV blackout will not be in place for the Baggies’ opening day.

So regardless of who West Brom play on the opening weekend, it will be televised live on Sky Sports.

West Brom need to get off to a good start

West Brom have recently added to their ranks with the signing of Nat Phillips from Liverpool, and that will be far from the end of their summer business as Mason assembles his squad for next year.

Expectations are already increasing for the Baggies next term, and as a result, they will surely be eagerly awaiting the fixture release so they can begin eyeing up their first few opponents.

There will be plenty of change on the footballing side of things at The Hawthorns this summer, and that will mean that getting off to a good start could be hugely important to Mason and his men.

Begin the season in strong form, and momentum could easily carry them up into the promotion battle. However, struggle in the opening stages, and it could heap pressure on the team.
