‘Mason in dreamland’ as West Brom’s 2025-26 fixtures released in full
West Brom’s Championship fixture list for the upcoming season has now been released, as they aim for promotion after a disappointing campaign last time out.
Ryan Mason will embark on his first season as a manager, having worked as an assistant at Tottenham for several years, with his first league game coming in August.
West Brom faltered in the race for promotion last season after the exit of Carlos Corberan, and they will hope for a fast start to set the pace this season.
The Championship fixtures have now been announced in full, and Mason will be delighted as his side have been handed a favourable start.

West Brom handed easy start as Championship fixtures released
West Brom’s Championship fixtures have now been released by the EFL, and they have been handed a relatively favourable start.
The Baggies will kick off their campaign at The Hawthorns against Blackburn Rovers, who ended last season in a crisis.
Opposition | Date | Home/Away |
Blackburn Rovers | 09/08 | Home |
Wrexham | 16/08 | Away |
Portsmouth | 23/08 | Home |
Stoke City | 30/08 | Away |
Derby County | 13/09 | Home |
This will be followed by a trip to the Racehorse Ground to face newly promoted side Wrexham, in what will be a high profile game as their first home fixture in the second division.
Games against Portsmouth, Stoke City and Derby County will follow, and with all three finishing in the bottom half last season, West Brom will be considered favourites in each of these opening five games.

Key 2025-26 fixtures for West Brom
Mason will be hopeful that West Brom can get off to a lightning start given their fixtures, with a trip to Middlesbrough in mid-September their first truly tough test.
Other key fixtures include a home derby clash with Birmingham City, which will take place midweek on Wednesday, November 26, with a 7.45pm kick-off time as things stand.
The Boxing Day game will also be played at home to Bristol City, while New Years’ Day will see West Brom travel to face Swansea City.
The final game of the season could be crucial for West Brom in the promotion race, and they will travel to Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday, who could be aiming to stay up by that point.
