West Brom want to sign ex-Liverpool midfielder to follow Phillips transfer
West Brom are busy in their attempts to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
The Baggies confirmed the signing of Nat Phillips for a fee of £3million, becoming the first signing under Ryan Mason.
Mason, 34, took up his first full-time head coach role at The Hawthorns after leaving his position as assistant at Tottenham in the summer.
West Brom have been relatively quiet thus far in the transfer window, in a crucial summer following a disappointing season last time out.
With the signing of Phillips confirmed, the Baggies have set their sights on one of his former teammates.

West Brom interested in Bobby Clark
West Brom are looking at former Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark as a potential signing.
Clark, 20, has struggled since he completed his move to Red Bull Salzburg last summer for £10m, making just 17 league appearances, falling out of favour in Austria after manager Pep Lijnders was sacked.
DaveOCKOP (June 30) reported that Mason’s side are one of the clubs interested in the midfielder.
However, the Baggies would face major competition for Clark’s signature, with upwards of 15 clubs interested, including Premier League side Sunderland.

Clark can kickstart career at The Hawthorns
Ryan Mason’s arrival at The Hawthorns could signal a long-term project based upon young talent.
Clark could become a cornerstone of this project.

The ex-Liverpool man broke through into the Reds’ senior side during Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield, making 12 appearances in all competitions, including an appearance in the Carabao Cup final, which Liverpool won 1-0.
Clark is very good at creating chances for his teammates, which the Baggies desperately need after scoring just 57 Championship goals in 2024/25, which included a run of just two goals in seven games in October and November.
Mason will likely use his Tottenham connections to strengthen his side, with Will Lankshear linked with a return to the Midlands, but Clark should be West Brom’s prominent figurehead for their new era.
