‘Jack Bray arrival at West Brom imminent’ as transfer announcement made

Ryan Mason will be slightly frustrated with the lack of transfer movement at West Brom, though a new arrival is now imminent.

Nat Phillips became West Brom’s first arrival of the summer window, and it was expected that David Brooks would follow the defender through the door at The Hawthorns.

The Welsh international was said to have completed a medical ahead of a move to the Baggies, but a deal for the Bournemouth star fell through at the last minute, with a move elsewhere now on the cards.

However, there has since been some positive movement on the recruitment front for the Baggies, with it now confirmed that they have sealed a new addition.

Harrogate Town confirm Jack Bray transfer to West Brom

Mason will be intent on bolstering his first team squad at West Brom in a bid to push the Baggies one step closer to a return to the Premier League, though the addition of youth will be just as important.

Building for the future has brought success for several teams in the Championship, most recently Sunderland, and it seems as though Albion are going down a similar route with the signing of Jack Bray.

As confirmed by Harrogate Town AFC via X (2 July), Bray has now completed a permanent move to the Baggies, having only just broken into the first team environment in League Two in the previous campaign.

The forward has plenty of potential, and even netted twice against Albion’s Under-18 last season. Bray is expected to join up with the youth side at West Brom and will likely have a chance to impress throughout pre-season.

West Brom must turn their attention to first-team arrivals

Given the number of exits at the end of the season and the lack of arrivals since, it is crucial that the Baggies start to accelerate their summer transfer plans if they are to have any chance at progressing.

Signing several quality attackers will be high up on the list of priorities, though Mason will be intent on strengthening his squad whenever and wherever possible.

With July now upon us, a new PSR year has been entered, leaving clubs with plenty of breathing space to do some business.
