‘West Brom to hijack Louie Barry transfer’ as multi-million saga emerges
West Brom have been watching on slowly as some of their Championship rivals get busy in the transfer window.
Hull were one of those, having previously agreed to a £3.5million fee with Aston Villa for Louie Barry despite interest from fellow Championship sides.
However, the move has since stalled with issues regarding a potential 50 per cent sell-on clause unable to be ironed out before the Tigers’ transfer embargo came into force.
West Brom have now been tipped to take advantage of the saga, with Aston Villa keen to raise funds, as they look to add to the signing of Nat Phillips.

Lee Hendrie backs West Brom to make a move for Barry
Despite struggling through injury on loan at Hull last season, Barry wasn’t short of interest this summer with the Baggies in the running for the forward.
Barry was recalled from his loan at Stockport County in the first half of last season, with Unai Emery looking to test the youngster in the Championship.
After leaving his boyhood club to join Barcelona in 2019, Barry could find himself back at The Hawthorns.
Speaking to Football League World (4 July), Lee Hendrie backed West Brom to make a move.
“If you’re looking at clubs that might hijack this, then you’re probably looking at the top end of the Championship, someone like a Middlesbrough,” Hendrie said.
“West Brom and Birmingham City have also been linked, several clubs that have got stacks of potential, money to really spend this season – that’ll be the clubs that will probably be looking to hijack this deal.
“I think they should. Louie Barry is a fantastic player, he’s shown that jumping down the leagues at Stockport.”
The 22-year-old excelled in League One with Stockport last season, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists in 21 league matches.
As shown in January, if the Albion are to make the move, they won’t be short of competitors for the young talent’s signature.

West Brom can right the wrongs of Barry sale
After losing Barry to Barcelona in 2019, the Albion now have an ideal chance to fix their transfer blunder.
The forward’s situation is a slice of luck for West Brom, who have struggled this transfer window.

At the end of last season, it was announced that Grady Diangana, John Swift and Semi Ajayi would be leaving The Hawthorns.
Although Mason’s side has signed Phillips and are closing in on Norwegian striker Aune Heggebo, the Baggies would benefit from further incomings as they look to make a charge for promotion next season.
