‘Heggebo will be a hit at West Brom’ as record-breaking deal agreed – pundit
Aune Heggebo is on the verge of securing a move to West Bromwich Albion.
Heggebo, 23, is set to move to The Hawthorns this summer for a fee of £4.75million from Norwegian side Brann.
The forward has made an electric start to the new Eliteserien season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in 13 games.
The deal is a gamble as the young striker has no experience in English football, but the Norwegian Under-21 international is highly rated in Scandinavia.

Heggebo ‘deserves chance in another league’ as Brann collect record fee
West Brom were in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, and this deal is seen as a win-win for all parties.
The deal represents a record fee for Brann, breaking the £2.1m they received from AZ Alkmaar for David Moller Wolfe in 2023.
Former Norwegian footballer Jesper Mathisen has said that Heggebo deserves the chance to test himself outside of Norway, claiming he can see the striker shining at The Hawthorns.
Talking to TV 2 in Norway, Mathisen said: “Heggebø has shown his class this season as well. He deserves a chance in another league.
“With his physique, mental strength and skills in the box, he could be a hit at West Bromwich.
“So it is naturally sad for Brann to lose one of its biggest profiles – even though they are paid very well.”

Heggebo can fire West Brom back to the top flight
West Brom’s major issue last season was their attack, having scored only 57 times in 46 Championship games.
With Daryl Dike and Josh Maja rumoured to be out of the door this summer, Heggebo can be the main man up front in the Ryan Mason era.
Durability is a skill set that the Norwegian possesses, which the likes of Dike lack, having already played 184 senior games in his career.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Eliteserien | 92 | 29 | 8 |
OBOS-ligaen | 63 | 24 | 12 |
PostNord-ligaen Avd. 2 | 5 | 2 | 0 |
NM-Cup | 14 | 8 | 3 |
Conference League | 10 | 1 | 0 |
With 87 goal involvements in his career this far, including 64 goals, Heggebo clearly knows where the back of the net is, and can become the spearhead of Mason’s new look attack.
If the Baggies can surround the forward with the necessary tools to succeed, he can fire the Midlands outfit back to the Premier League.
